The civil ceremony took place outdoors on a green carpet of lawn: cane-backed chairs with gold legs lined an aisle of candles in glass cylinders, and at the far end a pale wood panel with white curtains and sprays of pink, blue and lilac flowers stood above the ceremony table.

In the reception the setting shifts in tone: cream drapes in warm light, crystal chandeliers, bamboo and round tables laid in white and gold, with low flower arrangements and candles. A tunnel of flowering arches and candle-lined shelves, the couple’s table on lit steps, a sea-green watercolour cake, a green bar and a lounge with a candle-filled fireplace complete the picture.
