At the civil ceremony, an arch of lilac, pink and lime-green hydrangeas opens onto a grass aisle, with gold chairs, rows of hydrangeas and palms on either side. Overhead, sprays of foliage hang down like a living ceiling, with a crystal chandelier suspended at the centre.
The religious ceremony took place in a white pavilion, among draped curtains, arches of flowering branches, pale pink orchids and clear chairs. At the drinks reception the palette turned fuchsia: orchids hung in gold cubes, glass tables, crystal glasses, strings of lights and chandeliers beneath the thatched roof.
“Three homes for a single day: the garden, the pavilion and the ceiling of orchids.”
