At the entrance, a red carpet led between flagpoles to a panel with a map of Africa, and a backdrop bearing the event logo announced the theme. In the hall, warm orange and red light picked out the walls, the illuminated ceiling and the carpet of coloured circles.

On the round tables, gold chairs, matching charger plates, white plates and folded napkins set an elegant tone. At the centre, a halved basketball served as a vase for roses and white and yellow flowers, with an orange gerbera, tying the décor to the sport.
